A Somber Holiday

A year ago I wrote about the post trauma stress of the September 11 anniversary. It still applies.

What’s really disturbing is what our president has been up to this past year in foreign affairs, are these actions supposed make us feel safer, that no such terrorists attacks will occur because of his decisions ?
I don’t feel that way at all.

So is his plan to make terrorist afraid of this country because it is being run buy a crazy man, what happens when he is no longer in office, is this when we can except another attack ??

This 9/11 stuff gives us all a lot to think and talk about.

One reason that the country initially supported the war on Iraq was that we were told we weren't safe -- that the war was necessary for our security.

Now that we are being asked to pump another 87 billion dollars into the war, is there anyone out there that thinks the 87 billion will make us feel more safe?

I won't feel safe no matter how much we fight and how much money we spend. If it isn't Bin Laden it will be some of his followers. I feel sad that EVERY time I hear an airplane, I hold my breath and wait til it passes.

I am sure many people hold their btreath when they see a plane.

I drive buy the Burlington air port every day on my way to and from work, and their is always air trafic up here.
When I see these planes coming in for their approach to land, I look at them and decide if they are heading toward the runway or some building in the area, they have all landed safely.

What about all the people who live and work near the bigger airports in Boston, New York, DC, and other major cities in this country ????
What are they thinking when they look up??

When I worked last year in Airport and by the time those planes got to Malden they were pretty low and loud...it made us think about the terro of 9/11 every day. Here in NH I very rarely hear a plan, I hear them more often when they fly over the lake.
