October 20, 2003Mickey, Minnie and MaxieMaxie caught a mouse tonight. Apparently she caught one this morning too, but I slept throught that one. Tonight we were sitting in the living room and heard a noise in the corner, behind the table. Maxie came bounding out with a string hanging out of her mouth. No wait, not a string, a mouse tail. I grabbed her by the scruff of her neck, she opened her mouth, a live mouse dropped out, scurried across the kithen floor, and jumped into a convenient sneaker. I used the second sneaker to cover the opening on the first, and shuttled the little guy out the back door. He'll probably find his way back into the house and Maxie's mouth, but I'm planning to through that one. Posted by jghiii at October 20, 2003 10:26 PMComments

You gotta respect the food chain. Now you made the poor cat feel bad for doing what comes naturally. And deprived it of a good meal. Just wait until the cat decides to honor you for being above it on the foodchain by bringing you a prize -- and you wake up to find a dead squirrel on your bed while the cat is there grinning, waiting for its congratulations.
