November 22, 2003Video Blog?Mark Jones of INFOWORLD TECH WATCH has posted a video clip which he calls a "Video Blog Experiment" As I've said, I think that including audio and video in blogs is a really interesting idea. But I'm not sure if just pointing to a video clip in your weblog makes it a "video blog". Regardless, it's another interesting venture into ways to add expanded media to the blogosphere. That story does a disservice to the ease of use gang who promote the Macintosh as a computer for hte rest of us. Mark's problem started when he went to his tech department for help and they had him use a UNIX comand line interface to upload a file to a server. If he had a .Mac account he could have ealily 'drag and dropped' the file from his Mac to his .Mac account. He also could have used any one of a number of OS X file transfer programs. As for calling it a video blog, don't think so.

I'm excited to have been quoted in Infoworld, sorta: "And after observing that life would have been simpler if I used a .mac account (hmm, maybe), a reader commented on Jack's site that he too didn't consider the post a "video blog." That's me! "a reader" Come visit me over here: http://offonatangent.blogspot.com Post a comment
