You arent whining about the cold are you...how many times in the past two weeks have you lost the use of your water cause of frozen pipes....huh.

See, Jack must have known it would be cold like this, that is why he moved back to Melrose for the winter.

No frozen pipes here, we kept the hot water dripping from two different areas of the house last night just to be sure. We were lucky, only hit -11 with maybe 20-30 mph winds here. So what's that like -30 wind chill. Plus it was about 80 in the house, nice and comfy here.

Aren't you supposed to keep the cold water dripping?

We did have the water dripping, guess it didnt work, otherwise its comfortable here, but I dont like not having any running water, I feel like a pioneer from the old days...jeez.

I hear all the time now to keep the hot water running, especially up North here.

I always did because the heat would keep the cold water pipes running next to it warm so they wouldn't freeze either. Running the hot water will run your heating bill up a little, but sure a lot cheaper then having to replace a few busted pipes.

I hate frozen pipes, so I take no chance. My first winter up here was a diaster. So many frozen pipes, including the water line coming in. I think Jack will remember that one.

Damn, I really have to do laundry. I almost had to wear long pants to work today because all my shorts are in the laundry bin.

But since it's friday, and there's that casual friday attitude, I'm wearing my Cal basketball shorts and none of my bosses complained.

Cruel to be kind.......

Ah, the nice folks at work have let us go home early. I'm gonna stroll down to the Foster's Freeze and get a chocolate dipped ice cream cone, and hope I don't spill it on my jacket -- oh wait, I don't have to worry about that since it's too warm to wear a jacket today.

And I used to like you Sherm....jk.

Man, I know what you mean about having hassles with your pipes. My favorite one had some kind of blockage and nothing was coming out. Frozen you ask? Nah, just somehow I screwed up and put two screens in the bowl.

But once I figured that out, everything was cool. Foster Freeze's chocolate dipped vanilla soft serve ice cream cone is so much better if you have working pipes.
