It's a great visual

I don't know why, but this site made me think of Gone East pal Jo Ann M.

On this website, you will meet a unique community of individuals who love to skip! Yes, skip, as in leaping happily down the street...whether for joy, for fun, or for fitness.

I think this is a much more Jo Ann centric site:

I have never skipped with her, but my heart has skipped a few beats sitting in the passenger seat of her car.

Hey Jack! How funny! I think I'm more of a spinner than a skipper, really. At any rate, that is too funny!

Sherman: I ain't been in no stinking accidents! You are sooo paranoid! You rode with me once a million years ago in my itsy bitsy teenie tiny car... whatever! Talk to the hand 'cuz the face ain't listening...

Just because people dive for cover when you drive down the street; just because other drivers go up on the sidewalk when they see you coming -- doesn't mean you shouldn't have been in any accidents.

Sherman: There ain't never been no diving for cover! I think you had just been helping out the economy of Humboldt right before you got into my little car...

It's almost bibical -- kinda parting of the red sea imagery -- as Jo Ann turns the ignition key and people just start diving.

When she crosses the city, it looks like London during that scene in 28 Days Later when the guy walks thru the deserted town. Actually, it's more like Dorothy first checking out where she's landed in Munchkinland -- the place is deserted, but you get the impression that they are hiding in the bushes.

Diving for cover, I tell you. It's amazing.
