He's gonna do what!?

Gone East Pal Erik Schwartz is headed out to do something that for most of us would be the adventure of a lifetime. It's his second time.

It’s time for another Singlehanded Transpacific Yacht Race, and for some reason, I’m crazy enough to go for a second time. The race starts in San Franciso Bay on June 26th and ends in Hanalei Bay on the island of Kaua’i. My main goals this year are bettering my 14 day passage in 2002 (I’m aiming for 12 days), testing the performance sailing software I’ve written, anchoring closer to the beach in Hanalei and having a really good time.

I'm leaving Maine for California to do some final prep on the boat tomorrow, so I'll be in the Bay Area from now until the start in June. Come on by the start at Corinthian YC and say hi.

You can follow along the race here www.sfbaysss.org/transpac2004/
