June 20, 2004Like 1903 all over againAP Science, via Yahoo!: SpaceShipOne will try to climb 62 miles up Monday morning, leaving Earth's atmosphere for a few minutes to become the first privately funded, non-governmental manned spacecraft. The launch is scheduled for 9:30 am Eastern time tomorrow morning. SpaceShip one will release from the "mothership" at 50,000 feet, and rocket out of the atmosphere, at approx. 10:30.
