End of the second inning

Saturday night's Redsox win against the Mariners marked the end of the second 18-game inning of the 2005 baseball season.

The Redsox did somewhat better in the second than the first. 12 wins vs 10. After the first we were in second place in the AL East, one game behind Baltimore, and three ahead of the Yankees.

At the end of the second the standings are:

After 36 games each.

BALTIMORE    23  13
BOSTON       22  14
TORONTO      19  17
NY YANKEES   17  19
TAMPA BAY    13  23

Still one behind the Baltimore, and now five ahead of New York.
