Redsox clinch the AL East pennant... for the Yankees
The Yanks magic number was 1 going into last night's games. They lost. But the Redsox lost too so the Yankees win the AL East.
The "magic number" for the sox to be eliminated from the wild-card is 2 vs Twins. It's looking like the AL playoffs will be Detroit, Minnesota, and Oakland.
It was a season with such promise. Ah well. We have a saying here in Redsox Nation:
"Wait 'til next year."
