Five years of touch-typing

I recently reached the fifth anniversary of my going cold-turkey to learn how to touch-type.

It was one of the best self-improvement things I'd done in years.

During twenty years of daily hunt-and-peck typing I had become the fastest two-finger typist I knew. But now I can't imagine typing that old way.

When I was teaching myself, I memorized the location and finger assignments for each letter/key. I could tell you where the whole alphabet was.

But it's really strange that now, I type better than ever, but I couldn't tell you where any of the letters are. It's spooky, my fingers just seem to know.
