Nixon's the one!

Trott Nixon that is.

Red Sox staved off elimination last night, in a somewhat long thriller. But let's stay focussed here, cause this was just step-one of the three-step "Cleveland-thing".

My friend Ken M was at the game. I can't wait to hear what he has to say about it.

Not to be anti-religious, but I found Nixon's rant for Jesus after the game a little annoying.

But also mystifying. He thanked Christ for letting him honor him with this home-run. Does that mean that every other time he hasn't hit a home-run, Jesus has been specifically smiting him? These pro-Christ guys always give thanks to Jesus when they win -- but more often than not they lose, so does that mean Christ abandons them most of the time.

Another example: recently there was a amusement park ride with serious injuries. One person at the park commented on how they would have been in the car that got trashed, but their daughter held them up to tie her shoes. The woman claimed God was protecting them -- but that also means that God had to have pointed at whoever else went in the car instead and said "You -- I'm gonna mess you up!"

God strikes me as very insecure --he seems to need a lot of reinforcement that his people love him.
