Green Mt State

One of my brothers (the smart-alecky one) many years ago adopted Vermont as his home. He shows little desire to ever leave it. Maybe his passion for Vermont can be explained by the things in this Boston Globe article, or maybe it's in spite of them.

Some might accuse our northern neighbors of having control issues. But according to state officials, the name Vermont has real value. A product labeled "Made in Vermont" -- whether herb-infused maple syrup, pineapple pepper jam, or chai water buffalo yogurt -- is worth 10 percent more than the same product made elsewhere. And though you can't eat him for breakfast quite yet, Howard Dean is also benefiting from the Vermont name, spinning homespun value to a national market hungry for a candidate who is, well, unadulterated. He must not be in work today, or I'm sure he would have let you have it.

Oh I am here, just refecting on what I want to say.

Oh, I thought you might not be in, you usually respond pretty quickly.

Well, I read this article and nothing in it is why I live in Vermont,

except for maybe the Hippie thing .
Vermont is one place were real hippies can be found unlike those want-a-bees found in over crowed Harvard Square, but like most, I have cashed in my tye dies an become a slave to the corporate world, how does this happen when we fight it off for so long ?
Not dumping on Harvard Square at all, I always loved hanging out there.

I moved up here to 10 years ago be a full time ski-bumb, I stayed because of the people I met. And now I own a piece of it (actually the bank owns it and I am paying them for the next 20 something years)

I guess Shermy put it best in his comment several weeks back…

“You just gotta find where you belong in this country, this world.”

So Jack, tell us why do you live in New Hampshire ??

Funny how you use the phrase “One of my brothers” as if you have many, there is only two of us…..

Dave asked: "So Jack, tell us why do you live in New Hampshire ??"

You're just trying to give me a hard time, but I know the answer, and it's an easy one. I live in New Hampshire cause it's where my family and friends are.

Hey!

You are living there because you are supposed to be taking care of that old decaying thing that lives with you at the lake.

No, not Beth.
The frog.

You better be taking good care of that frog -- I carried that freaking thing a long way (with your help of course) and now that it's in the twilight of it's life, it deserves to be made comfortable.

Don't worry Shermy, the frog is still in pretty good shape, considering it hasn't been moved since it was put there.
