On the subject of BD losing his helmet: Trudeau started drawing B.D. while an undergrad at Yale in the late '60s, but until the current series of strips we had never seen B.D.'s hair -- the former football star was always shown wearing a helmet of some sort, no matter what he was doing. "The idea was twofold," said Trudeau of his suddenly bare-headed hero.
